I have this TV. Picture quality is really solid for the price, but I’ve noticed some occasional lag when navigating menus, which is annoying. Also, the sound could be better.
I’ve been looking at this one and the hisense u6g. How do they compare? I heard the hisense has better contrast, but I’m not sure if it’s worth spending the extra money.
Yeah, the Hisense U6G definitely has better contrast. The blacks are deeper, and overall, it handles darker scenes better than the Insignia. But the Insignia is cheaper, and honestly, if you’re just doing casual watching, the difference isn’t huge.
What about the smart features? Does the Fire TV stuff work well or is it buggy? My last smart TV was a nightmare, half the apps would crash or take forever to load
The fire tv part actually works pretty well. It’s snappy most of the time, though I’ve had a couple of moments where it lagged, especially when switching between apps. The selection of apps is great. You get all the usuals and a bunch of others. Plus, Alexa is built-in, so you can voice control it, which is pretty convenient.

How's the brightness?
It’s decent. Not crazy bright like some high-end models, but it holds up fine during the day. If you’re in a super bright room with a lot of sunlight, you might notice a bit of glare, but closing the blinds fixes that. It’s no oled or anything, but for the price, it’s pretty good!
